Could you be a Chaplain?

Churches Together/Cytun is looking for people who are committed Christians and regular members of a local church, who can spare some time – normally in business/shop hours, to join a team of volunteer chaplains under the direction of an ordained lead chaplain. You should have a love of people, an ability to listen and be non-judgemental in your approach.

Many people find life stressful – whether caused by family difficulties, bereavement, anxiety about their jobs, or any number of other concerns – and this can affect their work life, as well as their home life. The Colwyn Bay Town Centre Chaplaincy exists to enhance the emotional and spiritual well-being of people of all faiths, or no faith at all who work in, or visit Colwyn Bay town centre. This is done by providing, well-trained professional volunteer Christian Chaplains who can meet with them in the town centre, or visit them in their workplace or other agreed venue, reflecting the love of God to those they meet.

All chaplains working for Colwyn Bay Town Centre Chaplaincy will attend core training, followed by occasional training sessions. In addition, there will be regular reviews and ‘supervision’ meetings with the Steering Group, giving an opportunity to share concerns and ideas.

If you are interested why not have a look at the Role Description.

Please note that there are two Role Descriptions depending on whether you are an ordained minister or a lay person.

If you are interested in lay chaplaincy please complete the application form and submit it.

If you have been ordained in a church in good standing with Wales Cytun/CTBI please send your CV and a letter of application to info@colwynchaplaincy.org.uk
